Lifetime Commitment to Horses

Continues with Good Luck Farm

There’s a lot to be said for a lifetime commitment to the care and giving of horses, and Doreen Razo, owner of Good Luck Farm, Long Grove, Ill., knows the meaning of commitment.

Razo’s Good Luck Farm is located just a skip-away from Arlington Park Race Course. Doreen’s mother owned horses and a sister trains, so having been raised in a family very much involved in the racing industry, she knows first-hand what it takes to keep horses healthy and strong.

Razo offers a full-care facility with a focus on individual attention and honesty. “Honesty is something people in the thoroughbred business require and deserve,” says Razo.

Providing a broad range of top notch services is a major selling point of Good Luck. The farm offers broodmare selection, pinhooking and individual horse care, as well as sales representation and lay-up. Buying for new owners at horse sales is a ‘passion’ for Razo. She strives to find ‘the best for the budget.’

As the overseer of the farm, Razo enjoys developing young horses and carefully monitors her charges. She pays meticulous attention to feed programs, which are tailored and customized for each horse. Good Luck also advocates homeopathic treatment and chiropractic therapy for equines, and is currently installing an Odyssey Horse Walker to ensure the best and safest sales prep.

With a group of customers remaining loyal to her program, Doreen enjoys being ‘hands-on’, and looks forward to getting her trainer’s license in the near future. Involved in breeding Illinois-bred horses since 1997, Razo is active in the Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Foundation.
