Dean Butler, Mac Robertson take the Canterbury Park meet

Veteran Jockey Dean Butler captured the Canterbury Park riding title for the third straight year with 83 wins for meet, which ended on Sept. 11. Trainer Mac Robertson, who won three races on the meet’s final day, for the seventh consecutive time was leading thoroughbred trainer finishing with 43 victories..
Winning thoroughbred owners were Al and Bill Ulwelling with 15 wins capturing their second consecutive title. Quarter Horse trainer Bob Johnson won his first title at Canterbury with 11 wins. Leading QH jockey was Tom Wellington who won 12 races. Leading Quarter Horse owner was J K Running Horses.
