Horse with "more" than four legs wins at Remington Park
#9 Shotgun Ryder won race six on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Remington Park with jockey Jose Medina up. When he reached the finish, Remington Park track photographer Dustin Orona clicked his shutter to capture the image, making Shotgun Ryder appear to have more than four legs.
Covered
up by Shotgun Ryder is #6 Runaway Okie who dumped his jockey
Curtis Kimes shortly after the start of the 1-1/16 miles
claiming event for Oklahoma-breds.
Runaway Okie ran the entire course and moved to the inside of the Shotgun Ryder in the final strides, causing all but just his legs to be eclipsed by the winner.
Shotgun Ryder is owned and bred in Oklahoma by Steve Caldwell of Weatherford, Okla. and is trained by Joyce Salisbury. The 4-year-old gelding won his third career race and his first at Remington Park. Runaway Okie and Kimes were both fine after their incident at the beginning of the race.
