Class Break wins the Pat Whitworth Illinois Debutante

It was a big day for the Catalano family at Hawthorne Race Course on Saturday, Dec. 3 as trainer Wayne Catalano’s 2-year old filly, Class Break, owned by Catalano’s daughter, Shelbi, won the $89,100 Pat Whitworth Illinois Debutante. Wayne and his wife, Renee, bred the horse, a daughter of Sunday Break.

Diva’s Diamond and Our Domain dead-heated for second place after Class Break came from seventh place before rallying for the win under jockey Florent Geroux in 1:48.12 in the 1-1/16 miles race.
